Week Three Feedback

Thank you everyone for another great week of games! Special call out to Doug and Justin Barth, Jaxson Edmonson, Andrew Snyder, and Kevin Horstman who helped fill in some games that opened up late in the week! Thank you! You guys are awesome!! :D

Some Reminders -
- Don't forget to grab your flags before your game! Make sure you use them, they are there to help you!
- Be mindful of your game! I know some of you get a lot of games in a row, but be sure to be paying attention to your game! Don't miss a call because you are zoning out!
- Watch your positioning! Remember, referees work diagonal of each other, that way we get a better view of the play. If you are running the full length of the field, then you are overworking yourself.
- Blow your whistle loud and proud! I hear a lot of timid whistles out there. Let yourself be heard! A loud whistle is going to get everyone's attention which is important when you are working with the younger kids that like to play through the whistle.

Week One Feedback

We had a great first week guys! Thank you so much for all of your hard work, things would not have ran as smoothly as they did without all of you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We had a couple questions from coaches, so here is some clarification in case these questions arise again:

Q: Can the player taking the kick-off stand on the opposing side of the field?
A: Yes. On page 27 of the rule book, Law VIII (Starts and Restart of Play) Section 2.A states that "all players of each team, except the player taking the kick-off, must be in their team's half of the field, i.e. the kicker (and only the kicker) may entirely be in the opponents' half of the field at the taking of the kick"

Q: Who can sub on a throw-in?
A: On page 18 of the rule book, Law III (Players and Substitutions) Section 5.B states that "The team in possession of the ball on a throw-in may substitute any number of players. If the team in possession chooses to substitute, the opposing team may also substitute any number of players."

Referee Uniform Reminder

Remember that the referee uniform consists of not only a gold jersey, but also black thigh high socks. A lot of people were missing them this week, if you need help finding the uniform, there is a link on the Referee Resource page that will direct you to the SAY Soccer store where you can purchase anything you need for your uniform.
